A gender is who a person is, not who they are drawn to, and every prevalence figure here names the survey it comes from.

Gender identity is who a person is; sexual orientation is who they are drawn to. Knowing one tells you nothing about the other, which is why they are separate vocabularies here, each with its own A–Z list.
Non-binary covers any gender identity that is not exclusively man or woman, including agender, genderfluid and genderqueer. It is an umbrella rather than a single identity, and 11 of the terms on this list sit under it.
Gallup's 2025 survey puts US adults identifying as transgender at about 1.3%, and the Williams Institute estimates roughly 1.2 million non-binary LGBTQ adults, about 11% of the adult LGBTQ population. Both figures rise steeply in the youngest cohort measured.
Every entry names its sources, and every prevalence percentage names the survey behind it, usually Gallup, the Williams Institute, Pew or a national census. Nothing here carries pride-flag imagery or medical illustration; the entries are written as reference, not as advocacy.
